This was a baby shower/gender reveal cake done in the nursery colors: khaki and gray.  The cake was italian creme with swiss buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant accents.

Welcome Baby Elyia Jane

Here's a post-baby arrival baby shower cake I made for a friend.  My instructions were to make it pink and girly.  So, I kept it simple:

Baby Shower Cake

One of the teachers at Andrew's school is pregnant and the staff threw her a baby shower.  They asked me to do the cake.  My contact at the school found a design online that she liked, so I duplicated that.
It was a "mobile" type cake.  They didn't need all the extra cake from the top tier, so I covered a "dummy" cake.  (Styrofoam cake covered in tin foil.)
I apologize for the not-so-great photo.  I got a friend to snap a cell phone pic as proof that I did in fact make a cake.

For This Child I Have Prayed

This weekend, I had the opportunity to make a baby shower cake for a surprise shower for one of our friends in Bible Study.  She's having her first baby, a girl in February.   The shower went really well.  She was TOTALLY surprised.  We had fun at the shower; played games, talked, and ate lots of food.  *FYI: I won a coffee mug for sorting and folding socks with the fastest time.*  Glad my mad laundry skills paid off! I digress...

The cake was my signature chocolate with a strawberry buttercream filling, covered in rolled buttercream, with rolled buttercream and fondant accents.   The writing on the cake reads: "For this child I have prayed... 1 Samuel 1:27.

I brought home the leftovers for Drew. They didn't last long!
